Pretty plates by Paragon, an English porcelain maker in a pattern called Nocturne. Doesn't that remind you of that beautiful Chopin piece of the same name? Evocative of that are the dark maroon/purple roses, gray leaves, gold gilding, against a base that still gleams bright white. We think it's all rather romantic.

High quality fine bone china. Made in England. The backstamp was used from 1957 onwards. In excellent vintage condition. No cracks, chips or crazing. Very little signs of use.
Paragon China was an English manufacturer of fine china from 1919 to 1960. Its founders include members of the Aynsley family. Paragon received the Royal Warrant, which was issued to firms who regularly supplied the British Royal Family. It then became part of the Royal Doulton and later on absorbed into Royal Albert. The Paragon name was discontinued in 1992.
