Made in England, bone china. The backstamp was used from 1947 onwards. In good vintage condition. There is a small bite on an edge of the plate. The price reflects this flaw.
Tuscan was a trade name used by a family of potters RH & SL Plant, which operated since 1898 in Staffordshire. They innovated with chinaware sturdy for hotel use and came up with the pink hue for their china base. In 1966, it was acquired by Wedgwood and RH & SL Plant was rebranded as Royal Tuscan. It ceased production in 2006.
